                                      ABA ANNOUNCES FREE RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE TRAINING
                                                     WITH GENWORTH MORTGAGE INSURANCE

    WASHINGTON — Business Solutions, an affiliate of the American Bankers Association, has joined with Genworth Mortgage Insurance to offer free Web-based residential mortgage lending training to ABA members.

    Bank employees can access a schedule of training sessions and register online to participate in a variety of training courses offered by Genworth.  This arrangement is available only to ABA member banks and their employees.

    "We are very excited to offer this free, extremely valuable service to ABA members," said William Kroll, president of Business Solutions. "Genworth has long been known for the quality of their training and their trainers. Given the rapid pace of change in the residential mortgage markets, and the resulting changes in investor guidelines, our members will be able to benefit from current, specific training in topics that matter most."

    Through online classes, ABA members will be able to stay up-to-date on residential mortgage lending rules "in a quick and efficient manner," said Jorge Caceres, marketing director of Genworth Financial.

    "Genworth Financial understands the value in professional development of lenders and servicers," Caceres said. "These online classes are just one of the ways Genworth Financial works with partners to increase homeownership across America and ensure quality lending standards are attained."

    Some of the training sessions offered include:

    • Appraisal Underwriting;
    • Calculating Income, and;
    • Understanding the Secondary Market.
