FALCON, BRENDSEL, GORELICK HEADLINE ACB’S NATIONAL REAL ESTATE LENDING CONFERENCE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Key government and industry officials will headline America’s Community Bankers’ National Real Estate Lending Conference and Marketplace, Feb. 1-3, at the Marriott Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Scheduled to address delegates are: Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Director Armando Falcon, Freddie Mac Chairman Leland Brendsel and Fannie Mae Vice Chairman Jamie Gorelick.

Barry Asmus, senior economist, National Center for Policy Analysis, Phoenix, will explain the economic forces affecting the economy and community banks.

Steve Davidson, ACB’s financial economist, will analyze the results of ACB’s 2000 Real Estate Lending Survey. The annual survey focuses on mortgage originations, sales and purchases involving the secondary market and the use of technology in underwriting and origination.

The program will also include sessions on online loan originations and loan trading on the Internet, Federal Home Loan Bank mortgage partnership programs, using credit scoring, performance trends and best practices, and manufactured housing and commercial real estate loans.

Optional education workshops will cover revitalizing a construction lending program and maximizing the profitability of home equity and second mortgage lending.
