ROBERT DROZDOWSKI JOINS ACB FROM FDIC AS SPECIALIST IN TECHNOLOGY, PRIVACY, E-BANKING
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Robert C. Drozdowski, a former staff
member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Resolution Trust
Corporation, has joined America’s Community Bankers as senior regulatory
specialist focusing on such emerging issues as technology, privacy, electronic
banking and digital signatures.
"Rob will play an important role in ACB’s initiatives to
serve member community banks in critical areas that will help them maintain
their competitive edge as they fulfill the financial needs of their customers
and their communities," said ACB President and CEO Diane M. Casey.
Drozdowski joined the FDIC in 1995 after serving for five years
with the RTC, where his final assignment was chief of the Office of Contract’s
Information Systems Unit.
At the FDIC, Drozdowski first served as a senior systems analyst
in the Division of Research and Statistics (DRS), where he produced industry
data for the FDIC’s website. He received the FDIC Chairman’s Excellence Award,
and in 1998 he was awarded a full-year fellowship with the Senate Banking
Committee staff, where he focused on emerging technology issues. The fellowship
was sponsored by the Brookings Government Affairs Institute.
Drozdowski returned to the FDIC as a senior program analyst on
legislative and regulatory issues in DRS. He represented the FDIC in developing
the privacy regulations required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and represented
the DRS on the FDIC’s New Technologies Task Force and the Chairman’s Privacy
Working Group.
Drozdowski is a graduate of Western New England College,
Springfield, Mass., and is taking graduate coursework in public administration
at George Washington University, Washington.
