WASHINGTON, D.C. — Five industry groups representing nearly all of the members of the Federal Home Loan Bank System will co-host a roundtable forum to discuss FHLBank System multi-district membership issues. The forum will be held Jan. 10-11, in Washington, D.C.

The industry groups co-hosting the event said a roundtable discussion was the appropriate way to broaden the discussion of the multi-district membership issue in a manner that was inclusive, supportive and positive.

During the confirmation hearing for FHFB nominees Thursday, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.) indicated his desire for a system-wide approach and review of the issues involved.

The conference is designed to help move forward the development of joint policy recommendations on multi-district membership to the Federal Housing Finance Board.

The industry group includes: America’s Community Bankers, the American Bankers Association, the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks, The Financial Services Roundtable, and the Independent Community Bankers of America.

America’s Community Bankers is the national trade association committed to shaping the future of banking by being the innovative industry leader strengthening the competitive position of community banks. To learn more about ACB, visit www.AmericasCommunityBankers.com.
