ACB IS NATIONAL UNDERWRITER OF HABITAT FOR HUMANITY’S CONGRESS BUILDING AMERICA
WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers announced today that it is a national underwriter of Habitat for Humanity International’s “Congress Building America” project. ACB Chairman D. Russell Taylor made the announcement as he participated in the launch of the project and celebration of National Homeownership Month on Capitol Hill.
Taylor said: “ACB is delighted to participate in Congress Building America. We have long been an advocate for Habitat, including The Houses That Congress Built and The Houses The Senate Built. And, for the third consecutive year, ACB will be building a Habitat house at the start of our annual convention, this year in Las Vegas.
“We participate because we have a tradition of commitment to affordable housing. Homeownership is at the heart of our business; it is our promise to our customers and our communities.
“ACB and our entire membership look forward to working with Habitat, with members of Congress, with the families and with all of you to make Congress Building America a nationwide success. We want every American family to find affordable housing. It is not enough to proclaim the American dream of homeownership. Our goal is to shape the future by helping families live their dream.” Taylor is also president and CEO, Rahway Savings Institution, Rahway, N.J.
