WASHINGTON, D.C. — America's Community Bankers has named Rob Drozdowski its vice president, payments and technology policy, to spearhead the trade association’s increased involvement in cutting edge legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Drozdowski joined ACB in 2000 as senior regulatory specialist, and was instrumental in helping to develop consensus language in the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act and the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, both of which were enacted into law in 2003.

“Rob is an exceedingly talented and dedicated staff member with great skills in working with members of Congress and the regulators,” said ACB President and CEO Diane Casey-Landry. “He represents the interests of community banks and is a well-known industry expert in the areas of privacy, identity theft, cyber/information security, e-banking and technology oriented issues.”

Prior to joining ACB, Drozdowski served in a variety of technology and policy oriented roles at the FDIC, where he was the recipient of the Chairman’s Excellence Award in 1997 for his work on the agency’s Internet-based banking products. He participated in a one-year fellowship with the Senate Banking Committee through an FDIC executive development program with the Brooking Institute.

Drozdowski is a graduate of Western New England College, Springfield, Mass., and has done graduate work in public administration at George Washington University.
