WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers announced today that it has expanded its alliance with Compliance Coach to provide a regulatory risk management compliance education program on-line through Compliance Coach’s Regulatory University System.

The new Regulatory University program will offer on-line educational materials covering more than 30 high-risk laws and regulations to help community banks manage risks. ACB members will enjoy a preferred-rate discount on the cost of the service.

The e-learning system includes a customization feature allowing banks to easily create their own educational content on specific practices, supplementing the educational materials provided by Compliance Coach.

“ACB is delighted to be expanding this alliance to provide our members with even more web-based turnkey solutions on regulatory compliance issues,” said ACB President and CEO Diane M. Casey. “Our alliance last year with Compliance Coach to provide community banks with immediate access to information on privacy requirements greatly helped them comply with the letter and spirit of new law’s requirements.”

“Regulatory University is one more opportunity for ACB members to take advantage of distance learning and improve their skills and knowledge without incurring travel costs and losing time from the office,” she added.

Regulatory University will provide ACB members with a number of helpful applications including:

  • A library of interactive web-based regulatory compliance education courses on such topics as mortgage lending, anti-money laundering, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, Fair Credit Reporting Act, identity theft, customer privacy, deposits, insurance, non-deposit investment products, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting, fair lending, predatory lending and loans to insiders, among others.
  • Automated scoring, tracking and analytical reporting to document an audit trail of regulatory compliance and measure learning performance.
  • Certification and retesting to establish and maintain a standard of knowledge in the bank.
  • On-line tools to enable a bank to customize regulatory compliance education courses on its internal policies and procedures, along with automated tests to score and document users’ learning. The customization feature also allows a bank to customize frequently asked questions relating to internal policies and procedures.
In 2000, ACB’s alliance with Compliance Coach offered materials to inform and educate community bankers on privacy compliance and security issues through PrivacyU.com.
