ACB PRESENTS INAUGURAL COMMUNITY BANK AWARDS
ORLANDO, FLA. — America’s Community Bankers today announced the winners of
its inaugural 2005 Community Bank Awards. The awards were presented during ACB’s
Annual Convention here. Six overall winners were named, with two other
institutions receiving awards for special mention and three banks receiving
awards for their sponsorship of a Congress Building America – Habitat for
Humanity home.
ACB Chairman F. Weller Meyer said, “ACB created the Community Bank Awards to
honor those institutions that have taken an innovative, creative and effective
approach to making a difference in their communities. ACB members have
distinguished themselves for their longstanding commitment of giving back to
their communities.
“These awards honor the bank and entire bank team, rather than an individual,
for the collective positive impact they have had on the community,” said Meyer,
who is also president and CEO, Acacia Federal Savings Bank, Falls Church, Va.
