DIANE CASEY-LANDRY HONORED AS 2006 ENTERPRISING WOMAN OF WASHINGTON
WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers President and CEO Diane Casey-Landry was honored as the second recipient of the Enterprising Woman of Washington Award, presented by the Business and Professional Women’s Council of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Casey-Landry was presented with the 2006 award during a ceremony held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts Wednesday evening.
The award is presented to a local businesswoman who is significantly impacting the future of her field and recognizes entrepreneurship as an important aspect of women’s culture. The only woman to lead a national banking trade association, Casey-Landry began her career as a bank examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland before coming to Washington where she served as executive director of the Independent Community Bankers of America and director of financial services for Grant Thornton.
Past ACB Chairman E. Lee Beard introduced Casey-Landry. Beard now serves as principal of the Henlee Group, a financial services consulting firm she founded and leads. She noted Casey-Landry’s, “innovation, commitment, leadership and passion.” She described how Casey-Landry refocused the association, making “ACB the place to be for progressive, entrepreneurial community banks.” Under Casey-Landry’s leadership, ACB has become “more responsive to our changing industry and to competition,” Beard added.
Over $100,000 in sponsorship money was raised by the event for the National Museum of Women in the Arts to benefit the upcoming exhibition, Dreaming Their Way: Aboriginal Women Painters.
America’s Community Bankers is the national trade association committed to shaping the future of
banking by being the innovative industry leader strengthening the competitive position of
