BANK SECURITY, PRIVACY REQUIREMENTS, INTERNET OPPORTUNITIES HEADLINE ACB OPERATIONS, TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bank security issues, complying with new privacy requirements, and strategies for delivering products using the Internet are major topics at America’s Community Bankers’ National Retail Banking, Operations, Technology & Security Management Conference, March 25-28 at the Marriott Riverwalk in San Antonio.
Barry Thompson, a former community banker and now managing partner, Thompson Consulting Group, helped ACB develop the program’s security track and will lead several sessions. Thompson is a retired bank security officer with more than 20 years of experience.
ACB’s newly formed alliance with Compliance Coach to educate community bankers through web-based programs on the new privacy requirements and other compliance issues, including the new information security guidelines, will be explained by Paul Reymann, executive vice president, Compliance Coach.
Internet topics will feature the use of Internet portals to deliver bank products and services and for marketing purposes, opportunities and concerns over use of the Web, strategic technology and operations issues and Internet security. Other topics will include socio-economic trends impacting on community banking, the competition from non-bank companies, and funding alternatives.
Government speakers will include representatives of the Office of Thrift Supervision, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Center.
Registration is complimentary for working press. To register, or for more information, call Jim Eberle at (202) 857-3145.
