WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers has named Donald S. Glass, a veteran trade association executive, as part of its new membership team in New England. Glass will serve as a consultant to ACB on recruiting and retention activities throughout the region and will be headquartered in Boston.

Glass was president and chief executive officer of the Community Bank League of New England from 1976 until its merger this year with the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

Glass joined one of the League’s predecessor organizations in 1968 as administrative vice president. He negotiated the successful merger of the Massachusetts League of Community Banks and the New England League of Savings Institutions in 1994.

“Don is a great addition to ACB’s presence in New England,” said ACB President and CEO Diane M. Casey. “He personally knows community bankers from throughout the area and knows what’s important to them from a national trade group.”

Casey noted that Glass will be working with Steve LoCascio, ACB’s other membership team representative who is located in Fairfield, Conn. “Don becomes an important additional resource for existing ACB members and member prospects,” said Casey. “Don and Steve will be a powerful missionary team for ACB, conducting face-to-face meetings, institutional visits and banker forums to spread the word about the benefits of belonging to ACB, the association of choice for community bankers.”

America’s Community Bankers is the national trade association committed to shaping the future of banking by being the innovative industry leader strengthening the competitive position of community banks. To learn more about ACB, visit www.AmericasCommunityBankers.com.
