AMERICA’S COMMUNITY BANKERS NAMES VETERAN LOBBYIST TO GOVERNMENT RELATIONS STAFF

WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers has named William I. “Ike” Jones, a veteran Washington lobbyist, to its government relations staff as vice president and legislative counsel.

“Ike Jones brings more than 15 years of experience on banking legislative and regulatory issues to ACB,” said Diane Casey-Landry, president and CEO of ACB. “Ike will add strength and depth to our already highly regarded government relations advocacy program.”

Jones’ career includes: minority counsel to the House Financial Services Committee and principal adviser to former Rep. John LaFalce (D-N.Y.), the committee’s ranking Democrat; legislative and regulatory counsel for the FDIC; senior legislative and regulatory counsel for the Resolution Trust Corporation; and staff attorney for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board (now the Office of Thrift Supervision). Since 2002, Jones has been senior lobbyist for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Jones holds a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from Louisiana State University.
