WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers announced two appointments today to its Government Relations Department.

•  Dennis M. Hild is joining the staff as vice president for accounting and financial management policy. He is a 15-year veteran of the Federal Reserve System. Prior to joining ACB, Hild was a supervisory financial analyst in the Bank Supervision and Regulation Division’s Accounting Policy and Disclosure section. Hild joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in 1991 as a financial reports analyst and became a commissioned bank examiner for the Bank in 1996. He transferred to the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., as a senior course administrator in 1999.

Hild is a 1991 graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia, with a bachelor’s of business administration degree in marketing and real estate finance. He earned a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and accounting from George Washington University in 2003.

•  Gregory P. Mesack is joining the staff as senior lobbyist. Prior to his appointment, he was legislative director for Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), overseeing the congressman’s legislative staff and operations. Ney is chairman of the House Financial Services Committee’s Housing and Community Operations Subcommittee and chairman of the House Administration Committee. Mesack began his career in Washington, D.C., in 1999, as a staff assistant to Rep. Wally Herger (R-Calif.), and joined Ney’s staff in 2001.

Mesack graduated cum laude from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and history. He is a candidate for a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University’s School of Business and Public Management.

“These outstanding individuals will heighten ACB’s ability to provide members of Congress, other government officials and the Financial Accounting Standards Board with community banks’ point of view on critical issues,” said ACB President and CEO Diane Casey-Landry. “They will also play an important role in increasing operational support to our community bank members.”
