America’s Community Bankers has urged Congress to scrutinize the policy and regulations of the National Credit Union Administration on the conversion of credit unions to mutual savings banks. ACB said in a letter to all members of the House Financial Services Committee that the NCUA’s invalidation of attempts by two Texas credit unions to convert is the latest example of the agency exceeding its statutory authority.
