STATEMENT BY DIANE M. CASEY, PRESIDENT, AMERICA’S COMMUNITY BANKERS, ON THE PRESIDENT’S INTENTION TO DESIGNATE J. TIMOTHY O’NEILL AS CHAIRMAN OF THE FEDERAL HOUSING FINANCE BOARD
“America’s Community Bankers is delighted that President Bush has announced his intention to designate Tim O’Neill to be chairman of the Federal Housing Finance Board. The announcement represents another step toward having a full board in place during the important next stage of implementing a new capital structure for the Federal Home Loan Banks.”
“The FHFB plays a critical role in the oversight of the Federal Home Loan Bank System and we strongly urge the Bush Administration to move expeditiously to fill the director vacancies on the board.”
