WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s Community Bankers has entered into an alliance with the Center for Financial Training—Atlantic States (CFT-AS) to expand the accessibility of quality professional development to all levels of community bank employees nationwide. As part of this agreement, ACB members will be accorded CFT-AS member pricing.

CFT-AS has been providing specialized financial institution courses for many years, with current enrollment of more than 9,000 financial institution employees. CFT-AS offers some 2,000 courses in flexible formats, including online and correspondence study options. These programs include instructor-led and self-paced online courses and guided self-study programs. Many of the courses are eligible for college credit and professional credentials thanks to college-credit transfer recommendations made by the American Council on Education.

“These courses will be cost-effective for our banks because attendees can participate from home or office without travel costs or time out of the office,” said Diane Casey-Landry, ACB president and CEO. “ACB is delighted to add this offering to our own outstanding curriculum of workshops, schools and conferences for bankers.”

Michael Meakem, CFT-AS president, added: “The Center for Financial Training—Atlantic States is excited about this opportunity to supplement ACB’s educational programs with state-of-the-art distance learning alternatives.”
