ACB APPLAUDS PRESIDENT’S SUPPORT OF INTEREST ON BUSINESS CHECKING
Statement by Robert R. Davis, managing director of government relations, America’s Community Bankers, on the small business agenda President Bush unveiled today:
America’s Community Bankers applauds President Bush on his plan to help small businesses grow and create new jobs.
Since community banks have traditionally served the financial needs of small businesses, we are particularly pleased that the president’s agenda gives community banks the option of paying interest on business checking accounts. This has been a legislative priority of America’s Community Bankers for many years and we will work to enact this important tool during this session of Congress.
America’s Community Bankers represents the nation’s community banks of
all charter types and sizes. ACB members, whose aggregate assets are more
than $1 trillion, pursue progressive, entrepreneurial and service-oriented
strategies in providing financial services to benefit their customers and
communities.
